The Bike Rack Gives Specially Made Bike

The Bike Rack Gives Specially Made Bike

Each year, Jim Carveth, owner of The Bike Rack, donates to the children of CEDARS. This year there was a special request from CEDARS: a bike for a double amputee.

Due to a tragic accident Lamonte is unable to do something most take for granted: walk. After months of searching for a bike to fit, Lamonte recently received the gift of mobility in the form of a specially-made bike.

Through a donation from Carveth, The Bike Rack, and Ambucs, Inc. - a non-profit organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities- the eighth-grader received a new Amtryke recumbent bicycle.

"This is an incredible gift and opportunity for Lamonte to be able to play with the other kids in the neighborhood. I am so thankful for these wonderful people and how much they care about the well-being of children. Without CEDARS, Bike Rack and Ambucs this would not have been possible," said Tanzania Pillow, Lamonte's mother.
