Madonna St. Jane's Alzheimer's programs offer socialization, activities and successful experiences to enrich the lives of persons who have Alzheimer's disease and other dementia and to maximize their feelings of comfort, well-being and dignity.
At Madonna St. Jane, direct care staff is trained using the "Best Friends Approach to Care." A "Best Friend" is a family member, friend or member of the resident's care team who empathizes with the resident's situation, remains loving, positive and dedicated to ensuring the resident has a sense of security and value. Staff members get to know each resident's life story, preferences and interests in order to better enhance and personalize the resident's experience. Relatives and friends are considered care partners, helping staff determine how to best serve their
loved ones.
Madonna St. Jane provides for the special needs of individuals in the various stages of dementia. From Alzheimer's Day Services through 24-hour inpatient care in our St. Anthony's unit, our continuum of care is offered by a competent, compassionate staff with specialized Alzheimer's education.
Alzheimer's Day Services is an outpatient program for person with Alzheimer's disease which allows the clients to live at home and remain as independent as possible, while attending Alzheimer's Day Services every day or just a few days a week. Alzheimer's Day Services also provides home caregivers with worry-free time for themselves. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Monday thru Friday.
Inpatient care is also available for individuals with more advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease. This program, referred to as St. Anthony's, is an extension of home with 24-hour care and includes daily therapeutic activities designed to draw upon each resident's abilities. Intergenerational relationships have bloomed through weekly visits from children who are clients at Madonna's Child Development Center.
The dignity of your loved one is the utmost concern for Madonna St. Jane's specially trained staff. Secured indoor and outdoor walking areas, closed courtyards and gardens enhance the space available to our residents and clients with Alzheimer's or dementia.
