 Don't call the car wreck that changed Heather Tice's life forever an accident. "An accident implies that it could not be prevented. My crash could have, but I was just plain naive," explained Heather.
- Deb Spanyers
 Deb Spanyers is a mother, wife, daughter and an elected official. In August 2006, her roles were threatened when a mosquito bite later developed into West Nile virus, Meningitis and Guillain-Barre syndrome. Deb had to struggle even to hold her head up.
- Brady Beran
 On a warm Friday night, September 24, 2006, Lincoln East student Brady Beran was hoping for a victory as he took position on the football field against long-term rival Southeast. He was following a kick-off when he was hit by a Southeast player. He fell, but later walked off the field with his coach. The crowd thought Brady was going to be fine, but as the trainers examined him, Brady slumped and went into convulsions. He was taken to BryanLGH where he underwent surgery to stop bleeding in his brain as a result of a burst artery. The crowd at Seacrest Field gathered together on the field in a circle of prayer while Brady was in surgery.
- Fred Daigle
 Seventy-one year old Fred Daigle was reading the newspaper in his living room on a morning in June 2006, getting ready for his day. His wife, Mary Jo, asked him if he wanted any coffee. "I heard a strange moaning sound and I knew something wasn't right," said Mary Jo. "I went into the living room and found him slumped in his chair. I had a feeling it might be a stroke and I called 911 right away."
