Adolescent & Children: Clinical Leadership

  • M. Scott Applegate, M.D., F.A.A.P.M. Scott Applegate, M.D., F.A.A.P. Medical director of Madonna's Adolescent & Children's Rehabilitation Program

    As medical director of Madonna's Adolescent & Children's Rehabilitation Program, Dr. Applegate provides input into overall program planning, program outcomes and quality improvement efforts. Dr. Applegate, who is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina and has 11 years experience. In addition to his Lincoln-based medical practice, Dr. Applegate is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pediatrics for Children's Hospital in Omaha.

  • Amy Holst, M.D Pediatric hospitalist

    As the pediatric hospitalist for the inpatient pediatric rehabilitation program, Dr. Amy Holst develops and implements individualized treatment plans to manage the medical needs of our pediatric patients. Dr. Holst is a pediatrician that specializes in the management of hospitalized children. She collaborates with the rehabilitation team and the physiatrist to maximize the child's recovery while attending to any medical concerns. Dr. Holst is a 1997 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center medical school and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  • Holly Schifsky, OTR/LHolly Schifsky, OTR/L Program Manager

    As Program Manager, Holly Schifsky is responsible for the overall management of the Adolescent & Children's Rehabilitation Program, including provision of clinical leadership and program development, quality improvement and outcomes management, referral development, and customer relations. Holly is an occupational therapist who has worked with adults with brain injury as well as children and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses at Madonna for nearly 10 years. In 2005 Holly received the Nebraska Occupational Therapy Practitioner of the Year award and in 2004 she was presented with the Georgean Classen award for Outstanding Caregiver presented by Madonna.
