Billie Gatewood
Billie Gatewood graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She also earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from UGA and taught school in Watkinsville, GA and Americus, GA. She and her husband, Jim, have three grown children.
Billie is a 4 1/2 year breast cancer survivor. She and three other breast cancer survivors started a one-on-one mentoring group called "Pink Pals". They want to help breast cancer patients through their surgery and treatment process, and show others this can be a positive experience.
Billie is an honorary member of the Jr. Service League of Americus, The Colonial Dames of America, a mentor in the Sumter county school system, a member of the Sumter Regional Hospital Foundation and a very active member of the First United Methodist Church.
